WAYNE SELDEN NAMED MCDONALD'S ALL-AMERICAN
High School superstar, Wayne Selden was named as a 2013 McDonald's All-American. This year's game will be played at the United Center in Chicago on April 3.
The 6-5 guard is headed to the University of Kansas next year. Selden, who was originally supposed to be a high school junior year this season, re-classified as a high school senior and will be eligible to compete for Kansas next season.
During the summer of 2012, Selden, a Boston native, traveled to New York City to play for Big Apple Basketball in the Nike Pro City Summer League. The league featured various NBA and college stars.
"It was a real good experience," he said, during the summer. "It was another level of basketball, but I'm ready to get back to New York and keep hooping."
In addition, Selden was named to the Jordan Brand Classic All-American game to be held at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn on April 13.
Other BAB participants were named to the Jordan Brand Classic Regional game to be held prior to the All-American Game. The BAB regional participants are Kentan Facey (BAB Invitational 2012 & 2013), Jaquan Lynch (BAB Invitational 2013), Hassan Martin (BAB Invitational 2013), Terrence Samuel (BAB Challenge 2010 & BAB Invitational 2013), Shamiek Sheppard (BAB Challenge 2010 & BAB Invitational 2013), Rich Williams (BAB Invitational 2013) and Davon Reed (BAB Invitational 2012 & 2013).
