REED AND MASON III SELECTED IN NBA DRAFT

19622308 10154770840421169 885810735 nNew York, NY - Former Big Apple Basketball participants, Davon Reed (pictured, L) and Frank Mason III (pictured, R) were selected in the 2017 NBA Draft.

 

Reed was selected with the 32nd pick by the Phoenix Suns, while Mason was selected with the 34th pick by the Sacramento Kings. 

 

Reed is the only player in BAB Invitational history to earn MVP honors on a losing team.  

 

In 2012 he earned MVP with 25 points, a BAB record 22 rebounds, and six blocks (second all-time) in a 56-49 defeat to Bayside (NY).

 

In 2013, he earned the Sportsmanship Award after totaling 23 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, two blocks, two steals in a 62-58 loss to Curtis (NY).

 

Frank Mason III also played in the 2013 Big Apple Basketball Invitational. He helped lead Massanutten Military Academy (VA) to a 77-63 victory over Vermont Academy (VT).
