5 BAB PLAYERS SELECTED IN 2016 NBA DRAFT

nba draft photosBrooklyn, NY - Former Big Apple Basketball Invitational participants, Kris Dunn, Jamal Murray, Thon Maker, Isaiah Whitehead and Isaiah Cousins were selected in the 2016 NBA draft.

Dunn, Murray and Maker were all lottery selections. Dunn was selected #5 by the Minnesota Timberwolves, Murray was chosen #7 by the Denver Nuggets, and Maker went at #10 to the Milwaukee Bucks.  Whitehead (#42, Utah Jazz, then traded to Brooklyn Nets), and Cousins (#59, Sacramento Kings) were both second round selections.

In the 2012 BAB Invitational, Dunn led New London (CT) to a 80-76 victory over Benjamin Cardozo (NY). He totaled 35 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, and three steals.

Murray was a participant in the 2015 Big Apple Basketball Invitational and earned 1st Team All-Tournament. He posted 28 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals for Orangeville Prep.

In the same game for Orangeville Prep, the 6'11 Maker finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and two assists in a 66-64 loss to the Phelps School (PA).

Whitehead played in the 2012 BAB Invitational for Abraham Lincoln (NY). He helped lead Lincoln to a 77-42 victory over Robert Vaux (PA). Whitehead finished with 11 points and two assists in 19 minutes of action.

Cousins also participated in the 2012 BAB Invitational.  He helped lead Mount Vernon (NY) to a 55-54 victory over South Shore (Brooklyn).
