IMG 8339 2New York, NY - Big Apple Basketball (BAB) will host the 14th Annual Big Apple Basketball Invitational on Saturday, January 13 and Monday, January 15, 2018 at Xavier High School in New York City. The invitational features 14 top high school and prep school teams from New York, North Carolina, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Maryland, and New Jersey.

The invitational will feature New York schools, Curtis, Our Saviour Lutheran, South Shore, Long Island Lutheran, St. Raymond, and Lawrence Woodmere; along with Providence Day (North Carolina), Putnam Science (Connecticut), Loomis Chaffee (Connecticut), IMG (Florida), Cheshire Academy (Connecticut), Eleanor Roosevelt (Maryland), Milton Academy (Massachusetts), and The Patrick School (NJ).

Notable players include Anfernee Simons (IMG – Top 10 Nationally Ranked Senior), Devon Dotson (Providence Day – Kansas), Cormac Ryan (Milton - Stanford), Eric Ayala (IMG – Maryland), Jared Rhoden (Our Saviour Lutheran – Seton Hall), Aidan Igiehon (Lawrence Woodmere – Top 30 Junior Nationally), Jaiden Delaire (Loomis Chaffee – Top 50 Junior Nationally), Akok Akok (Putnam Science – Top 60 Junior Nationally), Frankie Policelli (Long Island Lutheran - Top 150 Senior Nationally), and Al-Amir Dawes (Patrick School - Top 100 Junior Nationally).

There are 21 current NBA players who have participated in the BAB Invitational including: Steven Adams, OKC Thunder (2012); Michael Beasley, New York Knicks (2007); Andre Drummond, Detroit Pistons (2011); Danny Green, San Antonio Spurs (2005); Tobias Harris, Detroit Pistons (2010); Isaiah Thomas, Cleveland Cavaliers (2007); Kemba Walker, Charlotte Hornets (2007); and Isaiah Whitehead, Brooklyn Nets (2009).

Since 2004, the Big Apple Basketball Invitational event has helped over 2,500 student-athletes gain exposure for college scholarships.

Founded in 1999, Big Apple Basketball provides exposure and assists young people in their athletic, educational, professional, and life skill development, while providing family and community focused programs and events.
