BAB ADVANCES TO PRO CITY CHAMPIONSHIP ON THURSDAY

PRO CITY PLAYOFF TEAM PIC 2015New York, NY - The Big Apple Basketball Pro Summer Team advanced to the Nike Pro City championship after defeating Dyckman/NYAC, 87-84 last night at Baruch College.

BAB trailed most of the game and took its' first lead with approximately four minutes remaining in regulation.  Despite scoring only 10 first quarter points, Big Apple Basketball's team defense kept them in the game, by only allowing Dyckman/NYAC to 17 first quarter points.

Both teams played to a stand-still in the second (22 points apiece) and third quarters (27 points apiece).  Big Apple Basketball was able to break through in the final quarter by outscoring Dyckman/NYAC 28-18, behind the strong play of Anthony Gurley and Derrick Caracter.

BAB received a strong team effort, as multiple players helped lead the team to victory.  Gurley (23 points, 6-10 3PT), Lance Goulbourne (10 rebounds) and Chaz Williams (10 points, 11 assists) were key contributors.  Caracter (14 points, six rebounds, two steals), Desi Washington (12 points, five rebounds) and Dustin Hogue (10 points, seven rebounds) also provided key play.

Big Apple Basketball (6-2) will play Bingo's All-Stars (5-3) in the championship on Thursday night at Baruch College at 7pm.  This will be BAB's second championship appearance in three years.  In 2013, Big Apple Basketball lost to Sean Bell All-Stars in overtime for the Nike Pro City championship.
