New York, NY - Legendary sports announcer, Spencer Ross (pictured, R) is now working for 1010 Wins radio in New York City as the weekend sports anchor. Ross can be heard every Saturday and Sunday from 5:15am - 11:45pm.
Since 2007, Ross has regularly volunteered as a public address announcer at almost all Big Apple Basketball events.
In 2009, he was inducted into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame.
"I hope I can continue to assist Big Apple Basketball," he stated. "It's been my privilege and it signalizes all that's good about the game in New York City."
Ross is most commonly recognized for his work as national Play-by-Play sportscaster, as well as a long-time Madison Square Garden announcer. Upon his induction he received the NYC Basketball Hall of Fame Trustees Award, the highest honor one can receive from the organization as a non-player or coach.
With the exception of the New York Mets, Ross has called play-by-play for every professional New York metropolitan area sports franchise, including the Yankees, Knicks, Nets, Jets, Giants, Rangers, Islanders and Devils. Nationally, he has worked for the NFL on NBC and Major League Baseball and has called games for the Florida State Seminoles and Boston Celtics.
