  7th Annual  Scholarship Games

Featuring NYC Metro Area's Top 40 Unsigned HS Seniors

 

-showcase the TOP 40 unsigned boys high school seniors in the NYC metro area to college basketball coaches 

-since 2003, Scholarship Games participants have gone on to play at Seton Hall, Boston University, St. John’s, St. Peter’s, Iona, Duquesne, Binghamton, Toledo, Marist, St. Francis (NY), Howard, NJIT and numerous Division II and III institutions

-provide opportunities for student-athletes to gain exposure for college scholarships 

-student-athletes are targeted to be academically eligible during the 2010-2011 collegiate season 

-free of charge to all student-athlete

-establish the "bridge" between Division I, II and III college coaches, prep school and NYC metro area student-athletes

-combine drills and games for an accurate assessment of the high school players by the coaches

-every student-athlete will receive "THE CORE", an informational packet which contains a wide variety of critical information for youth aspiring to be student-athletes in college

FORMER SCHOLARSHIP GAMES PARTICIPANT EARNS PRESTIGOUS HONORS

john holland layup big apple basketballBoston, MA - John Holland became the fourth player in Boston University history to be named America East conference Player of the Year.

He led the conference in scoring for the second consecutive season, averaging 19.1 points. Holland ranks second all-time at BU with 2,133 points and second all-time in steals with 195.

Holland joins a short list of players, including former Celtic great, Reggie Lewis who have been named both America East Player of the Year and America East Rookie of the Year.

Holland was a participant in the 2006 Big Apple Basketball Scholarship Games following his senior campaign at Fordham Prep. He also played in the 2007 BAB Invitational, as a post-grad at St. Benedict's (NJ).
