'I wanted to thank Jason Curry and his Big Apple Basketball staff for putting on a great basketball skills clinic at Tilden High this week. Jason and his hard working staff gave our "kids' a lesson on how hard you have to work to be a successful high school, college or pro player. His drills and skill work are second to none, his passion and love for the "kids" is great to see. Jason is a young man who clearly is a positive role model for all of our student athletes . I look forward to having all of our players work with Jason in the future.'

-Eric "Rock" Eisenberg, Tilden H.S. Athletic Director/Basketball Coach

"Participating in the BAB exposure games was a great experience. Coming from a small alternative school in East Brooklyn, I didn't have many coaches calling. It was a great feeling to see the phone calls and letters of interest from all of the coaches who were interested in my game. I am now attending Brooklyn College looking to make a lot of noise in the CUNY league and in the classroom so look out!

Besides the exposure I took more importantly the experience of becoming a better basketball player. I found it very interesting to see the time, effort and money Jason Curry puts into this event that is meant to give us options as an athlete and in life.

Thanks Jason and staff for everything you guys have done for me."

- Omar Farag, Scholarship Games Participant

"I participated in the Scholarship Games and because of that game I ended up at Alfred State College. I led the team in scoring (15 Ppg), assists (5 Apg), was second in rebounds (6 Rpg) and helped lead the team to the playoffs.

The first semester I had a 3.3 and this semester I'm on pace to get over a 3.0.  I think this was one of the best choices that I've ever made because its opening many doors for me, and I'm also meeting many new people.

Is there anything that I can do to help out Big Apple Basketball the way it helped me?"

-Damian Hyman, Scholarship Games Participant

"I was a participant in the BAB Scholarship Games.  I just wanted to first thank you for the huge opportunity you gave me.  If it wasn't for BAB I definitely wouldn't be where I am right now.  After the game last year, I started to receive a couple of calls from college coaches, and I ended up at Manhattanville College, with two other participants from last year.  I saw some significant playing time this year, and had a pretty successful season considering I got no playing time during my high school varsity career.  I truly felt the need to thank you and the rest of the coaches at BAB for this.

I was also wondering if there is anything I can do to help out in any way, and either volunteer or work for BAB.  I know the tryouts are coming up again and if you need any extra help, feel free to call or email me.  Thanks."

-Michael Panella, Scholarship Games Participant

-JaJa Bey, semi-pro player and member of Big Apple Basketball Men's Touring Team

" It was my pleasure to donate to Big Apple Basketball.  Sports is one of the best ways to reach our youth.  I feel that sports teaches discipline, patience, and the lesson that hard work will eventually pay off.  There is a great need for programs like yours, that emphasize education and explains to our young folks that sports is just a vehicle to get to a destination."

-Terry Archer, Parent
