High School Challenge
The Big Apple Basketball Challenge is a basketball event to showcase the top high school public league and catholic league teams. The BAB Challenge is designed to show the supremacy of New York City’s public or catholic leagues on the basketball court. The games are played at a very high level with bragging rights at stake. The 9th Annual, 2015 BAB Challenge will feature eight of the top New York City boys’ public and catholic high school teams.

Queens, NY - Charles Granby, a New York City and PSAL coaching legend passed away at the age of 81. His death was due to natural causes.
Granby coached at Andrew Jackson/Campus Magnet High School for 45 years before retiring in 2014. Some of his career accomplishments include, not losing a home game from 1972 to 1985, and currently #2 all-time in PSAL coaching wins with 722 victories.
During that span he won 24 division championships, seven borough championships and one city championship. Some of the great players he coached include, current New York Knicks forward, Kyle O'Quinn, former NBA player, Lloyd "Sweet Pea" Daniels, former St. John's star, Greg "Boo" Harvey, and former all-city guard, David Edwards, who later went on to star at Georgetown and Texas A&M.
Granby participated in the 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009 BAB Challenge, and the 2007 BAB Invitational with his Campus Magnet teams.
